The new version of WordPress 6.4.1 fixes critical errors

WordPress developers responded quite promptly to the discovered critical system bug in version 6.4. Within 24 hours of the release of the latest version, a new version 6.4.1 is available. The new version of WordPress 6.4.1 fixes critical errors caused by changes in the Requests library. Issues with updates on servers running older versions of cURL surfaced in that library.

Many web hosting companies began reporting massive problems with WordPress websites due to this bug. The new version of WordPress 6.4.1 fixes critical errors

Despite the fact that WordPress developers reacted very quickly, there is a second issue here. This error is likely to cause a secondary problem. If you’ve been affected by it, you probably won’t be able to automatically update WordPress to the new version 6.4.1 because the CURL error won’t allow it.

In this case, you will most likely have to rely on manual WordPress updates using FTP.

So, what does the new version of WordPress 6.4.1 fix?

WordPress 6.4.1 updates the Requests library from version 2.0.8 to version 2.0.9. However, this is only a temporary solution to the problem. Version 6.4.1 of WordPress also includes fixes for three other individual issues.

If you have automatic WordPress updates configured, you don’t need to worry about anything at the moment, provided that this error hasn’t affected you as well. WordPress will update itself. However, if you’ve been impacted by this error, you have no other choice but to download the new version and then perform the update manually using FTP.
